WEEK 10 – Crisis Management

Read Chapter 9:

Crisis management is an important part of media relations. We will follow up on the work done in COMM 350 by learning how to analyze issues and crisis and effect communication strategies to resolve them. We will be using Coventry as our case.

Discuss: What do you feel are the key strategies you would need to have in place to help the town of Coventry responsd to crises?

Does your client have a crisis management plan?  Should it?  What would you recommend?

Task: Collect your client’s crisis management plan if it has one.  Write a memo making recommendations for its improvement.  If it doesn’t have one, write a memo proposing one; include the key components that you think the client should address.
